Award-Winning Drill Design for Marching Bands, Drum Corps, and Indoor Groups

Jeffrey Fackler grew up in Boise, Idaho, where his early interests in drawing and music evolved into a passion for marching band pageantry after seeing his high school band perform. He studied secondary music education at Boise State University and Northwest Nazarene University, served as drum major in high school and college, and developed his skills through intensive study of leading visual designers and countless hours transcribing drill by hand. That dedication led to his first professional drill design opportunity in 1994, immediately after graduating high school.

By 1997, Jeffrey was designing drill full-time and has since written more than 1,000 shows for marching bands, drum corps, and indoor ensembles, with work represented at top state, national, and international competitions. He is also trained in visual adjudication and remains committed to advancing the marching arts. Jeffrey lives in Carmel, Indiana, with his wife Bethany and their children, and enjoys supporting his son’s marching band activities, traveling, visiting art museums, collecting vinyl records and vintage typewriters, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.
